世界數位圖書館(World Digital Library, WDL)
喜歡逛圖書館的人大概會常常會有，『怎麼就沒有一間圖書館能把天下間的書書收集齊呢？』的感慨。不過這種心酸，如果沒真的為了找一本書，跑過三、四間圖書館以上，大概不容易理解。這個願望雖然在實體世界很難被實現，但數位世界中已經有這樣的網站出現。4月21日起，聯合國教科文組織(UNESCO) 總部啟用世界數位圖書館(World Digital Library, WDL)，這個網站展現來自全球各圖書館及典藏機構的獨特文化資料，包括手稿、地圖、善本、影片、錄音資料、和印刷品及照片。這些資料都將提供無限制的且免費的取用。
後記
小時候曾經想過長大後要住的房子，一定要有一個書房，裡面擺滿所有喜歡的書以及想要看的書。不過隨著年齡增加，這個理想書房所需要的體積也逐漸增加，大到我負擔不起;不過嘛，或許，未來這件事會改變，我的書房可以小到只需要能容納一台電腦的空間就可以了。

學術研究的世界大多時候讓人感覺沉悶，但其實還是有很多有趣的研究正在進行。比方說這個期刊，主要是針對虛擬世界（virtual world）上的人事物進行討論，如線上遊戲、Second Life、魔獸世界等內發生的事物，都在討論的範圍內。
我們可以相信，研究者在虛擬世界所做出的真實研究嗎？
不同的研究者帶著不同的研究問題進入這個虛擬世界，他們得到了甚麼不同於真實世界的發現？
有興趣的人，不彷自己進去看看吧。
